The Tribes of Catalion

This blog serves as a key introduction to all 10 of the tribes that can be found within the Catalion Clashing Tribes TCG, the idea behind the chosen tribes was to pick elements that people would recognize by the colour of the cards, while also providing some rough ideas for when designing a creature or relic that belongs to that specific tribe.

The symbols hold significance in the lore of the Catalion world, which will be expanded upon in future blogs, but to keep it simple they are representations of the first leaders of each tribe who tried to unite the creatures of the world and strived for peace.

The tribes are as follows:

Infira the tribe of Fire

Hydris the tribe of Water

Terasol the tribe of Earth

Elevolz the tribe of Electricity

Arctos the tribe of Ice

Galero the tribe of Wind

Technium the tribe of Metal

Radight the tribe of Light

Veldow the tribe of Shadow

Galaxis the tribe of Stars

If you want to know more then keep scrolling as I have left a key introduction and piece of information about each tribe to give a key idea of the vibe or feeling of each group, please note that this is the starting point for each of these and given time those descriptions and effects may alter and advance.

Infira the Tribe of Fire

This tribe is represented by a fiery spirit, strong will and a burning power that can scorch even the most troublesome foes.

While their power is vast it does come at a cost, as when their strength grows to rapidly it can harm them and their allies as well.

This tribe features large amounts of effect damage and power boosting as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on increasing attack damage, while some very rare ones are able to boost the effectiveness of effect damage if equipped to an Infira tribe creature.

Hydris the Tribe of Water

This tribe is represented by an ever changing presence, at times it can be as calm and still as a lake, while others it thrashes and rages akin to the ocean in a devastating storm.

While their skills and temperaments can be hard to discern, this tribe can unknowingly swallow their own with the crashing tides.

This tribe features effect damage reduction and forced formation alteration as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on increasing the effect damage dampening, but some very rare relics allow for secondary boosts to attack when enough allies of the Hydris are present and it is equipped to a Hydris tribe creature.

Terasol the Tribe of Earth

This tribe is represented by a steadfast will, and unshakeable philosophy at it's core. They can withstand blows and severe conditions, standing tall like the mountains, unfazed and fixed in their ways.

Though they are resilient, this does come with a drawback, as their immovability sometimes causes them to neglect those around them.

This tribe features Attack reduction and power boosting as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on decreasing incoming attack damage, while some very rare ones are able to stop formation changes if equipped to an Terasol tribe creature.

Elevolz the Tribe of Electricity

This tribe is represented by a blinding speed and spark which see's them always looking ahead and striving to achieve what they can in a flash.

While this forward thinking nature can be beneficial, it has also lead them to neglect what has come before, ultimately resulting in stagnant progress.

This tribe features zone trap creation and relic switching or overloading, as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on secondary effects when moved or overloaded, while some very rare ones are able to provide effect damage if equipped to an Elevolz tribe creature.

Arctos the Tribe of Ice

This tribe is represented by a frigid and generally cold demeaner to match the freezing power that they have, which can prove troublesome for even the hottest of environments.

While their influence on the temperature of an environement can be great, this has begun to slowly encroach on them, slowing them greatly compared to other tribes.

This tribe features relic destruction and nullification of formation changing as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on locking the creature in place, while some very rare ones are able to add retaliatory effect damage if equipped to an Arctos tribe creature.

Galero the Tribe of Wind

This tribe is represented by a free flowing spirit which carries them forward in the world of Catalion, while percieved as gentle, they can become fierce when pushed.

While they control their own flow and the winds around them well, when it is impeded they see a drastic loss in capabilities and strength.

This tribe features Deck Searching and formation affecting as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on boosting attack when a deck search effect is used, while some very rare ones are able to deal effect damage to specific zones if equipped to a Galero tribe creature.

Technium the Tribe of Metal

This tribe is represented by an iron clad determination, boasting some of the most durable and resilient creatures of the Catalion world.

While their defensive capabilities are impressive, their immovable nature makes them come off as unfeeling, which can be seen in their effects.

This tribe features zone trap disarming and standard attack reduction as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on decreasing damage taken, while some very rare ones are able to place an opponents zone trap onto their side of the field if equipped to a Technium tribe creature.

Radight the Tribe of Light

This tribe is represented by a shining beacon of authority and radiance, they are seen by many as a source of intense strength that can blind most foes.

While the light and skills they wield can be strong, there is also a draw back as this light can hinder their allies just as much as their enemies.

This tribe features effect negation and damage reduction as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on decreasing damage from effects, while some very rare ones are able to negate damage reduction effects and add the power to the attack if equipped to a Radight tribe creature.

Veldow the Tribe of Shadow

This tribe is known for its mysterious and dark background, sticking to the shadows and waiting for the opportune time to strike against their foes.

While they remain shrouded in shadows and mystery, they are willing to sacrifice those within their tribe to ensure that a mission is completed.

This tribe features graveyard based damage and bonus effect damage when attacking from certain zones as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on increasing graveyard based damage, while some very rare ones are able to temporarily disable relics if equipped to a Veldow tribe creature.

Galaxis the Tribe of Stars

This tribe is the most advanced and mysterious of all those found within the world of Catalion, preferring to watch from afar and watch events unfold rather than actively engaging.

While they are more advanced than most tribes, this serves as a disconnect for many of them and leads them to focus on advancing, rather than what they can fix now.

This tribe features temporary creature removal from the game and formation altering as some of the key effects that you will find with Creatures.

Most relics that belong to this tribe focus on increasing attack damage after a creature is removed, while some very rare ones are able to negate effect activation if equipped to a Galaxis tribe creature.
